In northwestern Alabama, the 180,000-acre William B. Bankhead National Forest encompasses lakes, limestone canyons and a natural bridge as well as the 25,986-acre Sipsey Wilderness Area. Recreation areas within the forest include Brushy Lake, Clear Creek, Corinth, Houston and Sipsey River. Hunting for deer, wild turkeys, squirrels and quails is permitted in season.
